BDO Bahrain has signed an agreement with Tamkeen to provide small-medium sized businesses with accounting and auditing services, as part of Tamkeen’s Mohasaba Scheme. The two year scheme, which begins as a pilot project, will see 1,200 businesses benefit from receiving accountancy services from three of Bahrain’s leading auditing and financial services companies.
Under the scheme, businesses will be able to benefit from two main sets of services. The first involves assistance in accountancy practices, including design and implementation of proper internal controls, proper daily books and ledgers, financial statements, accounting policies and procedures and systems. The second will offer financial auditing services in the form of an audit report that states the degree of compliance to acceptable accounting standards and best practices.
Jawad Habib, Senior Partner of BDO Bahrain, said, “We believe this programme is a positive step in developing the private sector in Bahrain. Proper book-keeping and accounting standards are vital to both a company’s growth and its ability to obtain financial assistance. This scheme will help small enterprises develop financial reporting and accounting practices that conform to international standards.” |
